Join the Seen CommunitySEEN is a groundbreaking feature-length documentary that not only explores the transformative power of personal healing for parents but also delves into the scientifically supported effects of such healing on parenting and its impact on child brain development.
By focusing on the unexplored aspect of parents confronting their own childhood coping mechanisms, "SEEN" is poised to fill a significant gap in current narratives. It promises not just compelling storytelling but also the potential for profound societal impact, making it an appealing proposition for those looking to invest in content that drives change.
Our vision was to craft a film that deeply resonates with audiences, sparking a flame of self-reflection and personal growth. Through the unfiltered and authentic narratives of real parents, we reveal the remarkable potential of addressing trauma and attachment styles.
Together, we are illuminating the path toward emotional liberation and healthier connections—with both ourselves and our children.
We live in an age where, as parents and caregivers, there is more information than ever before. How much screen time is the right amount of screen time for our children? How best can we manage our children’s daily meltdowns? Time in, time out, clear boundaries, feel all the feelings - what’s best? We are hearing more and more reactive advice on how best to manage our children, yet we are missing the root cause and solution.
Advice about how best to raise a child is not new. And yet, as recent studies demonstrate, our children are struggling more than ever before. This is a tired issue that needs a fresh understanding, brought to us by a collection of experts with evidence based data. In sharing this new information, SEEN hopes to trigger mass awareness and a deeper understanding for individuals, leading to bottom-up change in families throughout Australia and beyond.
SEEN will encourage parents to consider how their own past may be influencing their children.
We are at a critical juncture, with our children needing us more than ever before. We, as individuals and within our families and communities, are being prompted to discover a new approach. An approach that will have a positive influence on not only those around us, but society as a whole. We hope you can join us in working towards this change.
Hailey Bartholomew is a director and award-winning filmmaker driven by an endless curiosity about the human journey—how we can live well, cultivate healthy relationships, and find meaning in our everyday lives. Her films center around the beauty of connection, soul, and storytelling that makes us all feel a little more human.
After directing impactful TV commercials for brands like TEQ, Olay, Intrepid, and campaigns for NGOs like the Morcombe Foundation and the Australian Literacy Foundation, Hailey shifted focus towards personal stories that resonate on a deeper level. Her celebrated project, 365 Grateful, gained worldwide attention for its heartfelt exploration of gratitude, airing on Oprah’s OWN network and ABC TV, with Hailey’s TEDx talk amplifying its reach. Her work is marked by compassion, curiosity, and a genuine desire to reflect the things that matter most.
Parenting has always been at the heart of Hailey’s story, both personally and creatively. Raising her kids into adulthood sparked a deep reflection on life, as she found herself wondering, "What just happened?" All those ideals and expectations melted away, leaving her to reimagine what it means to be a parent. Her latest documentary on parenting is the culmination of that experience, the film she wishes she could’ve seen when she became a mother at 21. It’s a raw, real, and inspiring look at what we give, gain, and learn along the way.
Sam embarked on her professional journey as a social worker, dedicating numerous years to the educational sector. In 2010, following the birth of her first child, she initiated the Facebook page known as ALDI Mum. This online platform witnessed remarkable growth, amassing an impressive following of over 170,000 users. In 2012, she co-founded the Social Media Agency Good Funny Smart and concurrently established another online community named School Mum, which has since expanded to encompass more than 440,000 followers.
In 2017, Sam ventured into the realm of technology startups, founding ParentTV. This innovative platform functions as a video streaming service that personalises parenting guidance, delivering insights from globally renowned, research-based parenting experts directly to parents through various digital devices.
Sam's journey was further influenced by her marriage to an elementary school teacher. She recognised a growing need for parenting support within educational institutions, as parents often approached schools and childcare centres seeking assistance that exceeded their primary educational mandates. ParentTV bridges this gap by offering individualised support to parents and collaborating with childcare centres, schools, and businesses worldwide. It serves as an on-demand video resource, providing educators and parents with access to the most current and evidence-based parenting advice.
